This template should be used on animated GIF and GIF-derived images the have visible dithering artefacts. It automatically adds Category:Dithered images to the page.

This image or animation has GIF dithering artefacts. If possible, take another screenshot with a similar or identical subject saved in the PNG format in which the dithering is not as visually distracting. Please go to the Image maintenance project page for more information.
